IEEE Computer Society slightly better

Continuing my [battle w/ IT professional societies](/acm_so_gets_the_web), I’ve decided to finally join the IEEE Computer Society. They have ACM to thank.
As it turns out, IEEE Computer Society are better than ACM in terms of web presence, however their enrollment app still sucks. It sets the no-cache HTTP header, which means Back after you submit a form doesn’t retain the information you enter. This would be fine, except the form where you pick a username is the same as the form where you enter a credit card, so as you guess which username is available, you’re re-entering credit card info as well.
This is just the kind of crap that really irritates me about web apps. Why can’t rank-and-file web devs get a clue?
Of course, if I was building web apps w/ * cough, cough * Domino, I might be clue-challenged as well…
Wow, IEEE just really get it. They even have spiffy Web 2.0-ish RSS feeds. ACM, please get a clue.
