I am now an annual member at SEG
Last week Ifinally broke down and got an annual membership at Silver Eagle shooting range. I’ve been going on a daily pass for a while now, and still like it, so I figured $100 and $35/mo is worth it. As long as I go at least twice a month I’m saving money over the $25/hr rate, and with IPSC going the way it is twice a month is quite doable.
They had previously stopped offering annual passes as a commenter here pointed out, but they opened up the rolls again in advance of the FNH event they had last Saturday. I got in on that so now I’m set; I don’t know if they still have memberships available or not.
I asked the guy at the front desk about the membership rationing; he said they were looking to cap annual memberships at 500. While this is good for me as an annual member since it reduces competition for lanes, I don’t see how it makes sense for them, particularly as they’ve already cut their hours across the board.
Now if only I can find ammo. I’ve already gone through my two cases of Blazer 124gr 9mm, and am starting to shoot through my Lawman. I managed to pick up a case of 115gr Brown Bear for the low low price of $0.24/rd, but that won’t last long either. SEG are limiting 9mm to one box per person and charging some ungodly sum for it, so what am I to do? This ammo shortage thing really needs to clear up.
